Yeah the game rocks, aside from the "find key/ open door" gameplay, and lack of multiplayer (I hope they add this feature for free). Oh, you gotta not mind seeing through walls up close as well. Still this game is innovative enough to keep me playing off and on.

Beware on how badly this game sucks for PC! The graphics are excellent, but you can only use your keyboard. There is no gamepad or joystick support!!!

Plus its made for a console, meaning nothing over PG rating, meaning no blood, real violence, etc.

You CAN use the gamepad (and you CAN change your keyboard controls). Try going to Oni's website here and then heading to the forums. Should help you out. It's a bit tedious, but I fixed the controls on my keyboard to fit me (and I actually found it MUCH more comfortable than using a gamepad).

Also, I beat the game and I'm telling you: All throughout, I kept on thinking of the LACK of features, but now that I'm done with it, I keep have the urge to go back and play it. Never have I played a game on the PC that had such FUN hand-to-hand combat. For $30, I'd have to say it's worth it/

5?! Is that correct, or do you mean to say 50$? (The closest Bestbuy to me is quite a bit a way, but for 5$ I'll go...)

Can you provide a direct link to the forums, as I can't seem to find them. Just a FAQ.

I use a Panther XL joystick, and...if I can't use it with the game, I won't be buying it, so I'd like to know before I do if I can.

Thanks.

II. Gameplay and Controls

Q. Oni doesn?t allow me to change the default keyboard control layout in the game. Is there any way to change the default keyboard controls?
A. Oni sets the default keyboard controls on its first launch. If you really want to change the default keyboard layout, you?ll need to edit the key_config.txt file, found in the same directory as the Oni.exe application file.

I have played the game and I can conclude that this game is for the console. The style of play and the graphics are a big giveaway but I think it's still a good game.

Oni is good. I think that most fps's or tps's on PC's should be controlled with mouse and keyboard. It takes a little while to get used to, but it's really useful (and the economic way to go :) ) Yes, it's true that the graphics could be better, but I put my $$$ down primarily for gameplay, not graphics.

I can only see wanting to play this game with a control pad "if" you have tendon dammage or carpal tunnel, or "if" you're a console gamer at heart. The game screams for a Mouse and Keyboard. I heard that the PS2 couldn't handle the textures in this game (what a joke) so they had to be toned down. The biggest thing I can see with why this may be a console game is the lack of multiplayer in it. If you're hankering for it though, give Rune a try.

I've had Oni for over a month now and it absolutly kicks ass. My only complaint is you have to manually edit the control changes outside of the game (They didn't do much to port it to the PC). Also the game is a bit predictable (How many anime movies have this same plotline heh)
