OneNote Rocks!! Best MS software ever?

Man, I really think OneNote is the best software that MS ever made!
I really think people should get rid of stupid word processors and start using OneNote.
I don't think I need to explain why OneNote is better because whoever used OneNote would understand what I'm talking about here.
 
It is pretty cool, but you don't take full advantage of it unless you're using a tablet PC.

MS has really been firing off some awesome software lately though, IMO the best are:
1)2003SBS/Sharepoint Server
2)Virtual PC/Virtual Server
3)Exchange 2003/Outlook 2003
4)MS Project Server
 
i had the same reaction as you did when i saw onenote for the first time last year. in fact, i was so impressed that I actually went out and bought a tabletPC. well, after about a week's use i wasn't as impressed and realized that it's useful in only a few applications. mind you, i was a student using this to take notes in class and even in this environment, the novelty wears off pretty quickly.

But, can you CC and email those notes immediately to everyone in your meeting having automatically transcribed your writing to text and include any sketches/drawings/audio that were made during the discussion?

Onenote quickly becomes a critical tool for those who would benefit from the application.
 
Can you take notes on paper, scan them, and have OneNote use it by converting it to text?

Or is a OCR (optical character recog) program needed?
 
it's for taking notes!

i just checked out the Flash demo on the MS site.

looks REAAAALLY cool!!!

i WILL buy this if i get myself a laptop/tablet.

ive NEVER taken my notes and put them on a computer

i guess if you do this for a job it could be usefull but its pointless for a student

I don't know about you, but I'd prefer not to be the "note bitch" for the whole group/meeting. If they want notes, they can take them themselves. 🙂

haha that's what i'm saying...but my girlfriend loves onenote & her tablet...

so...to each his own...she got a toshiba protege tablet pc...i got an ibm t42...
 
I hope everyone here is using OneNote SP1!! So much better! I didn't use OneNote much before cuz I don't have a tablet, but with SP1 its a bit more useful for folks on a regular laptop.
 
i have onenote installed at work and home. i mainly use it to collect my random thoughts together. the todo list is still on outlook.

havent tried SP1. i should go download it.
 
wasn't there a better-than-notepad alternative already out there ? Damn the name escapes me at the moment...
