He has a point about the beer.

Canada has Unibroue, which is fvcking awesomely delicious!

USA has Three Floyds, Rogue, Dogfish Head, Goose Island, Ommegang, Allagash, New Glarus, and MANY MANY other craft brewers.

USA brews just about every known style of beer, and is competitive within just about every category. American craft brewers make awesome drinks from imperial stouts to belgian quads. There is no place in the world where you can get as good of a mix of great beers. That said, sure, belgium makes the best belgian quads, and maybe the UK has the best bitters, and maybe germans might have the best lagers, but seriously, lagers suck 🙂

What about insulin and pacemakers? Me thinks they come in handy in America :hmm: 😀

The game was awesome, and Miller was a beast! That stop on Heatley = amazing.

Insulin and pacemakers are not nearly as funny as the trailer park boys.

On a scare of greatness, trailer park boys is easily a 9.5 out of 10.
Insulin and pacemakers only get an 8 out of 10, since they apply to a smaller portion of the population. (note: I'll probably need both of them when I get older, at which point I will revise my opinion, eh!)

serioulsy, mainstream cheap-ass advertised-to-hell beer here in the US is generally crap, but its also getting easy to find delicious microbrew beer all over the place. i live in a smaller town in rural NC and can get several microbrews from the around the country (and the state!) without having to leave town now.

also...the canada/usa final was great, and ryan miller busted his ass to get the US team there.

jonas hiller also deserves some recognition, he was *great* when switzerland played canada. even though his team lost, he definitely kept them from being embarrassed.

Fuck the hockey gods! All I want is to see my Flyers win a cup and last year would have been perfect after so much heartbreak!

There are great micro breweries. Next time you are up here, search out Steam Whistle.

The Beer argument again? lol

Can't really be settled if Microbrews are part of the discussion. Everybody has Microbrews, very few people actually ever get to try them. Due to that fact, everyone only has the Major Brands to judge a distant peoples Brew. Also, Microbrews are more Local than National, so it makes no sense to promote them up like that.

For Mass Produced/Available Beer Canada Wins(IMO) in a US v Canada, but they both Lose big time once you get any(almost anyway) European country involved.

Overall, this kind of discussion is annoying and can't really be decided without Blind Tasting. Nationalism clouds our judgments even more than excess Beer does.

Lord Stanley says hello.

And after the horror stories I have been told by friends that went to the games in philly, I hope your rink burns to the ground.

Ive heard stories of flyers shenanigans...admittedly,every team is going to have some drunk jackass fans

But the philly fans arent the worst ive seen. 3 or 4 games a year my friends (some season ticket holders) and i just out right skip a few games because the opposing teams fans get so bad

too bad, its a sport: rag on the teams all you want. but jeebus, dont be douchebags to each other, its not worth it.

/might be a drunk jackass, but i dont harass anyone i dont know personally

I don't know, the fact that it is a sport, and the fact that I don't give a shit. I suppose that's what it is.

Then why the fuck are you in this thread? You fucking thread derailing troll.

Can this douche be banned already?

And one year later it's looking more and more like the Jets might return. The Hockey Gods must be hard at work!

You are clearly delusional and have no clue. Especially about American beers, I'm not talking about Budweiser anymore then I was talking about Molson.

Canadians aren't even worth hating, they aren't even worth the energy. People don't even know, or care, that you exist.

no shit.

It was a great game. So much energy in that building that night. It could only have ended the way it did. Ryan Miller stood on his head for some of those saves. I think it was great for hockey in both countries.

I just wish that the NHL could figure out some way to capitalize on games like that. Sadly, it doesn't. Namely because Bettman is probably the worst commissioner of the four major sports in North America. But that's a rant for a different topic.

I hate Bettman too, but it's hard to argue with results. 5 years after the lockout and I don't know if hockey has ever been more popular.

Not sure if serious....

Lack of a major television contract is probably his biggest failure as a GM, outside of the lockout. Right now the NHL is relegated to NBC and Versus, besides your local teams networks (MSG, NESN, Fox Sports X, etc). Even golf takes presidence over the NHL on NBC. You just can't have that IF you're trying to be a major player in the US.
