One Totally Craptastic Day!

So this morning while I'm in a meeting with my boss I get a call from my mother who tells me that my grandfather, at the spritely age of 84, is in the hospital. He went to the hospital because he couldn't breath. One of his lungs filled up with fluid which had to be removed by an ever so graphic procedure which I was informed of (read large needle). I called him around lunchtime, but at first I had to explain to him that it was his grandson calling him. He must have been on some pretty strong painkillers because he doesn't have alzheimer's and we talk fairly often. He sounded horrible, only able to talk with 1 or 2 words at a time before he had to take a breath or two. Needless to say, the conversation was short because I knew he was not going to be able to talk for any length of time in his condition.

Then to make my day even worse than it already was, my fiance got into a car accident after lunch. I had to leave work to go pick her up because her car is pretty much totaled and had to be towed away. When I pick her up she's pretty much lost it completely and is sobbing beyond control. She's so bad off that when we get to the auto shop she can't even leave the car, so I go check to make sure it got towed to the right place. Oh btw, it had been raining heavily and it took me almost an hour to get to where she was so she was soaked from head to toe.

So to sum things up quite simply, today was one totally craptastic day!

I'm sorry for your grandfather and your fiance, but hopefully there is a ray of sunshine around the corner! 🙂

It felt odd saying that... but it'll be all right, just give it some time.

Man, hope you grandfather is aight and hope your fiance is aight too. In times like these, I like to think of the immortal words: "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get."

So how did it go with the boss?
Boring, it was just our weekly status/update meeting that got held over from Friday afternoon.

Thanks for the support guys, today is a new day and hopefully things will calm down a bit today.
