CAMDEN, N.J. (AP/ 1010 WINS) -- His lawyer calls it a foolish prank, but a judge isn't laughing.

A 17-year-old high school student from Haddon Township admitted in family court Thursday that he defecated in a classmate's soda during an auto-shop class.

Prosecutors dropped an aggravated assault charge in exchange for the boy's guilty plea to a charge of tampering with a food product.

Authorities say the victim sipped the soda, then spit it out as his classmates laughed on March 29.

A judge ordered the boy to serve probation, serve 200 hours of community service, write a letter to the victim to apologize _ and to write a 1,000-word report on why it's unhealthy to ingest fecal matter.

Gotta admit the guy has talent if he can squat over a 20oz bottle and sink a shot like that.

I'm more surprised that they still teach auto/shop class in high school. Too many districts have cut back on that the past few years - heaven forbid we teach our students something useful before they graduate... :/

But I digress. That was a horrible thing to do. The judge made the right decision in this case.

Well, I certainly wouldn't laugh it off, which leaves violence as the only answer. I guess in some areas that works but in others you'll end up in even more trouble.

5 weeks of working full time; considering it's summer that's not terrible, but it's no drop in the bucket either. Plus, time spent at community service is time he could've used working or doing summer homework (hahahahahahaha).
That said, I have no problem with the sentence.

WTF is a proper comeback to someone shitting in your food or pissing in your drink? If this were a restaurant or some kind of function where food is being served, you are saying the appropriate recourse is to up the ante on them, not to call the police, file a criminal complaint, and sue the shit out of them?

This is why I HATE practical jokes and infantile pranks. There is always one (or two) in every group who has absolutely no sense of where the line should be.

This kind of prank is a fighting offense. The only proper 'take it to the next level' from shitting or pissing in someone's food or drink would be to poison their dogs, set fire to their home, put something in their engine to blow it up or loosen all the lug nuts, hobble them for life at the knee cap with a crow bar, or something along those lines.
