The Repugs seem to be good at melodrama.
We stopped an attack on LA!
It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

Actually, no, I did post on some of Obama's comments on the current state of the party and I agree with those comments. Any more independent opinions on the questions poised. Appreciate the comments, getting some ideas here and considering developing a paper on the current state of the independent voter outlook for 06 and 08.

They need a fresh set of talking points. They're already into reruns.

I consider myself to be a moderate and voted for George Bush Sr. and Bob Dole.
I don't think that I differ much from most of the moderates that are friends and associates.

That said, I consider the current administration the most incompetent, manipulative and slimiest in history.
Indeed, only a diehard partisan would be unable to see how far the Grand Old Party has fallen. This once proud party has let this cabal of fear mongers with tremendous amounts of money, sell many moderate, largely uneducated Americans on their far right agenda.

As a one time strong supporter of John McCain (and assuming he would run for president), I would vote for anyone the Democrats put up against him.

Clinton was on the board of Walmart?

lmfao!
Ignorance is bliss. Wal-Mart was a different company while Sam Walton was alive. Walton died in 1992, the same year Clinton left her director position. I suspect that's not a coincidence.
Oh of course, I knew there had to some kind of explanation why Walmart was good when Clinton was on the board, but evil now.

Thank you so much!

btw I think you may have a great idea for a book. How to take a great American company and turn it into an evil empire in under a decade!
Grow up.
I am not sorry if my response showed how utterly ridiculous your theory sounded.

But I am sure if you try hard enough you can probably get Bush involved somewhere in the plot to turn Walmart into the most evil corporation ever to have existed. 1992 and the death of Sam walton is just way to coincidental.
Fluff off, troll. You're obviously too young to remember Wal-Mart's high-profile "Buy American" program, where Sam Walton made a point of stocking American-made goods, even when they had to pay more for them. That program died with Sam; the rest is history. I suggest you educate yourself before sticking your feet in your mouth again.

No it's just proof that a fool convinced against his will is of the same opinion still. This has been known for a long time.

I have been registered as an Independant voter for almost 20 years and have voted for almost as many Rs as I have Ds.

This administration and a fair amount of the Rs in Congress have left a bitter taste in my mouth as far as the Rs party as a whole on the national level. I will still support a lot of the Rs on the local level as I have in the past and a few on the national. But my take is that there is a massive Repub PR machine that is putting out pieces like this to further an agenda that is bad for the country.

The article lays out it's side of the story without any mention of what those in it's own party are doing with regards to scandal, coersion and lobbying. I merely gave what I believe to be the other side of the coin. I believe that it is better to leave the Repub party to it's own demise or, at the very least, let them get over confident and think that all of the current events are not going to be an issue and slam them upside the head with them come full campaign season.

Thank you for your insight and I certainly respect your opinion on the issues. I believe the 06 elections will be decided once again by the independent voice and I think it is important to hear that voice on the issues.

IIRC, most polling has independents concurring with the Democratic positions 2:1. Economy, foreign policy, healthcare, etc . . .

The problem is that our electoral system only favors national agendas/perspectives under limited circumstances. Despite being an admitted crook, Randy Cunningham probably could have kept his seat. Dirty (Bob Ney) and dirtier (DeLay) will likely retain their seats. Hell, the influence peddling king himself (DeLay) just got a spot on the Appropriations committee.

Republicans aren't going to rock the boat too much and Democrats cannot swim.

Not quite, a good laugh at Bowfingers silly theory.
Not that I would expect you to understand something as complex as that.

I agree with this mostly. Look at Dan Rostenkowski. He was convicted of embezelling money through the House Post Office and still got re-elected. Though Delay is not currently polling very well in his supposedly comfortably safe district. A Dem who lost his seat due to the redistricting that Delay was instrumental to may just beat him. Wouldn't that be poetic justice.
