One song per band

It doesn't matter. As per my post above, those are the songs from those bands that everyone knows even if they aren't fans. Due to radio, media, etc. it's just what they know. I didn't think this was a 'pick their biggest hit' thread....

The song that everyone knows, is, by definition, their biggest hit. Isn't it?

Pick a group you like anything by. Is there one song by them you wouldn't much mind being the only one you heard from the for quite a while?

Or even for a group you don't like much that you think represents them enough that someone hearing that would have a good representation of their songs?

It may or may not be a hit. Probably is, but doesn't have to be.

I get the 1st point now.

But the bolded then goes against the RHCP "Under the Bridge" choice for sure. That's not something that even CLOSELY represents their songs and/or sound.

I'd be pretty satisfied with only 'Under the Bridge' from them, but think bigger fans would want more - for example, 'Give it away' would be missed by them I assume.
