One snowflake and the whole state has a coronary

Here is a list of my snow-related grievances:

1) Three days before the "snowstorm" is supposed to arrive, and the supermarket is jammed with idiots stocking up on canned food and batteries like the apocalypse is coming. What is wrong with you people? I swear, there is a large segment of the population that really gets off on worrying about weather-related problems. These are probably the same people that built an underground shelter to ride out the Y2k "disaster".

2) The local news spending 90% of their coverage on the impending snow. It happens every year, people. And please, oh please, stop referring to it as "Winter Blast 2005".

3) That idiot in the Suburban driving in the fast lane on wet pavement with tire chains doing 20 miles an hour with their flashers on. I hate you!

4) The city of Baltimore who feels the need to coat every outdoor surface with a thick layer of salt before the first snowflake hits the ground. I have so much salt on my car that I am afraid that my car will disintegrate at the slightest provocation. My car and I both hate you.

5) The drivers who feel that the best way to drive their minivan around in the snow is to make lots of abrupt steering movements and slam on the brakes whenever they become afraid. Soccer practice is cancelled; go back to the suburbs and stay out of my way.

Thanks for your time. I feel better.

heh, great rant. 8/10 :D

And yeah, I just finished plowing a foot out of the driveway...it's gorgeous out there. I'm contemplating driving in this weather just to go skiing :p

Are you a ninja, by any chance? Do you sometimes flip out and kill people for any reason, or sometimes no reason at all?

That sucks, but its better than the Suburban on 20"s with bling-bling rims and summer tires doing 60mph down a road with 6 inches of snow on it. At least when he went flying off the road into a ditch he didn't take anyone with him! (This isn't an anti SUV statement, there were "regular" cars doing the same crap and ending up in ditches or hitting multiple cars)..

Just a FYI. The salt won't hurt your call at all as long as it's below freezing generally. The salt only hurts stuff when it mixes with water and becomes an acid.

Seeing as the high temps around here haven't got above the single digits during the day, I'm not worried ATM. :)

Where do you live? Florida? Cause people seem to be more paranoid around you than here, and we just had 5+ inches of snow with 50 mph winds.

Heck, we are supposed to get up to 18", about 6 had already fallen. I am going out to dinner, then home. I will go to the store tomorrow when all the tards have stripped it clean today. I like driving in snow..and the plows are pretty good around here, no big deal.

we don't have salt, or snowplows, or snow (not much anyway) in north texas, when snow hits we just don't leave our homes for day or two until it melts. It's just a good excuse to have a mini-holiday.

I was partial to the "DEEP FREEZE!" stories on the news here in Seattle about a week ago. The temperatures reached lows of nearly 32 at night!

Back in Ohio, a low of 32 in January means we're having a _warm_ spell. I'd hate to see what these people would di if it actually got cold, as in single-digit temperatures. They wear down parkas when it's in the 40's, they'd have to buy portable heaters and carry them around or something. I've been wearing my spring windbreaker all winter and never needed anything more.
