Here is a sample from my latest model shoot. This particular girl had very good attitude, and it made working with her a lot of fun. Here's a preview from the shoot:

I'm curious...

Do you have to pay these models? Or do you just supply them with material for their portfolio?

 
Well for this girl, she actually was a lot more experienced then me (had some big projects coming up). To tell you the truth my portfolio was pathetic compared to hers, and the only reason I was able to get her to work with me was pure personality on my part on selling the shoot on the phone. If it had been a written invitation to work with me (via e-mail for instance), I am 99% sure I would have been turned down or heard no reply (most common thing). Then again, to paraphrase Samuel Jackson in the 'diner scene' in Pulp Fiction, "personality goes a long way". In working with models, or in the entertainment industry in general, a *sparkle* personality and having impeccable manners is a must imo. No I did not pay her as I have only been working with models for about a month, and I am not making any money off this myself. Just building up my portfolio at this point.
 
You finally started working with the sun instead of against it, and it looks much better :thumbsup:
 
I should have time to do 2 more shoots with this girl before she has to leave town. One of them should be lingerie, so hopefully I can get some very seductive images out of that session.

I like it, nice work. Great model, technical quality is good. I especially like the way the model's body matches the diagonal of the shadow line behind her. Don't know if that was intentional or not, but it works. Kudos.
 
If it was an average model and picture, I wouldn't say much except to say it's okay, or say 'good job'. But I must nit pick.
The background is a tad distracting. Try something more simple, so the OOF part of the image makes a nice pattern.
If you do use the background, you use it as part of the image, or to convey meaning.
 
Ouch. Not a shot I'd think she'd like shown of her. A bit rude angle wise and you're showing too much upper leg and not in a nice way. Not a great facial expression. The first shot was much better.
 
Yes, the 3rd is better but I think the first shot is the best of the 3.

3. Right arm partially hiding her face. Her left shoulder should be turned a bit more toward you so she didn't have to twist her neck so much; this would've also shown more cleavage.

2. Her leg looks disproportionately large and hides too much of the rest of her body. It is a crotch shot and not one I'd think she'd appreciate. A bit pornographic for the setting.
 
Here's a bit of a different take on the standing pose. Actually she enjoyed the pictures so much she is introducing me to her gf tomorrow who is also a model so I can shoot them together (who would turn down that assignment?).

On the down note, I've been meaning to photograph 4th of July Fireworks for several years now and something always comes up preventing me from doing so.
 
I'd have to say I like the first one best so far. I'm not a fan of the sunglasses. Is it just me or does her face seem to reflect a bit too much of whatever light is available?

And you lucky SOB w/ the twosome assignment 😛

I would feel a lot luckier if it was a threesome instead, and I was not holding a camera. Hmm, 5'11 blonde and 5'8 redhead.........that's not a bad mix if you ask me.
