Why did FEMA/STATE/WHOEVER not airdrop food and water into the affected areas, especially around the dome and near hospitals/nursing homes, etc.
Why? We got into 3rd world countries with NO infrastructure after the tsunami almost immediatly, yet it takes 5 days to get anything to NOL? The militairy airdrops supplies in IRAQ, why not here?
Someone answer this?
It took days to respond to the tsunami. In fact, like NOLA, the left used the tsunami to bash Bush relentlessly too. When the military airlifts supplies, it requires much previous planning. It's not as if they suddenly say, "Hey, let's go drop this load of food and water into Tikrit." and then just go d it. There is planning, staging, and logistics involved, particularly when it's done on any massive scale. Nor is it as if they can fly a C-17 over the superdome, crack open the cargo bay and let fly. You'd have a mob of people rampaging and even more hell would break loose.
And yesterday I did something I rarely do. I watched the news on the boob tube. I saw video after video of ice, bottled water, and food being distributed, so this claim that it's not happening seems like pure horsesh!t. Yes, there are isolated cases of people or groups of people not being taken care of, but how are they supposed to fly supplies into some of these folks when you've got morons who have decided to pop a cap at the helicopters and buses and intimidate drivers by pointing guns? If I were one of those drivers I wouldn't be going into that kind of crap either, no mater how desperate those people were and I doubt many, if any, in here would either.
