One question about These HDTV deal going on BF

I have one question about all this HDTV. Especially the tosihba 50inch 50hp66 and the westy 42inch LCD both from best buy

We have cable tv in our home but not cable box or such just the cable coming from the pole to the tv. Do i need to get any other reciver to get these tv to work? Or it's should as soon as i plug the cable to the TV. Thanks for your time.

You're probably in the wrong forum. However, to answer, you will in fact need a digital hdtv receiver. Most digital cable companies offer you rent one from them (with tivo functionality) for 5-10 bucks a month plus cable costs. Well worth it.

obviously the tv will work and you will get regular tv as always but you won't get hdtv unless you get a hd box or an antenna (assuming the tv has a built in ota hd tuner)
