One of the coolest commercials I have ever seen

hehe, i think it looked pretty cool, but damn, a bit wasteful though, and ya, what a mess haha. Anyways, it was still wastefully cool.

Athlon XP 2700+. CPU is a little dated. Could that be it? Format? 720p I believe - those HD Bravia commercials. In the balls commercial is fine and smooth in the very beginning, but starts getting choppy as soon as all those balls show up. Damn multi-colored balls. So beautiful, and yet such a pain

That's a bit of a slow CPU, to run HD, actually, although I run an AthlonXP 2500+ Barton in my HTPC.

I still don't actually know what codec the HD Bravia commercials you have are encoded in - The ones I have are h264, and I use CoreAVC because it's a lot better for slower CPU. And honestly, I think the extra cache in the Barton AXPs helps.

The only other thing I can think of is shut down EVERY non-essential background process and program you can find. My HTPC is a Media Center box, and it only runs two user-controlled processes and 3 tray icons when playing a video.. the MCE gui, DCut, VNC server, ati tray icon, and msn messenger.
