One of my roomates is going to get paid to play WOW

Hes a grad student in IST, and his research is focused around interface design, specifically in video games. His research advisor is going to be paying him on wage over the summer to play world of warcraft, and document stuff. Since it's wage, he has to record his hours (a max of 20 hours a week though).

And its $20.50/hour.

Who the hell pays someone 20 dollars an hour to play world of warcraft? He's never played the game before (neither have I), but im sure he'll like it.

maybe when they get 1/10th of the subscribers then researchers will care about their interfaces. people want to know about the king, not the court jesters.
