One of my nostrils is always plugged.

I've noticed recently that one of my nostrils is always plugged. Usually the right one. I notice it when I have my daily bath, I prefer baths over showers. I clear the nostril out in the bath. Anyone else notice this? Wonder if it's due to allergies. I never used to think I had any allergies but then I developed a serious allergy to cats. When I visited the allergist he said I was also allergic to dust mites and pollen. I've never noticed any reaction to these though.

Oh and no I don't do cocaine.

And no you can't have my stuff😛

This should work

I also have this. My left is usually the one that I can breathe through. At night when you go to bed, put on one of those nasal strips used for snoring and it will open it up.....guaranteed.

BTW, I have been like this my whole life.

Mine too, i find that if I lay on one side, the nostril that's closest to the ground will clogg up.

I have bad allergies and often one or both nostrils is plugged up. When I sleep, as Kroze said the one closer to the ground clogs up like a punished toilet and the other is ok. Lately though I've been using the nose spray I have more (Nasonex, etc) and it can generally keep both open fairly well.

As duragezic said, a spray steroid (fluticasone propionate) will help greatly.

I spent the last 15 years with a perpetually plugged nose, I would blow it and get 5-10 minutes of relief. I didn't even realize how bad it was, but then I caught a cold on a business trip and got some Afrin-type stuff and OMG it was amazing being able to breathe through my nose. Problem is, people get addicted to the otc spray, so I went to the doctor and got the steroid spray and use it every night. It is A. Mazing. how much better I sleep. I'll still use otc spray when I have a bad cold, but for the most part the steroid spray is awesome.

Allergies. You'd be surprised at how many things normal people are allergic to. The question is whether or not it's to a degree that affects you enough to bother you.

Is your house/apt dusty? Do you eat a lot of one type of food/ingredient? Do you use scented soaps and clothing detergent? I'm just guessing. but you'll never really know until you see an allergist.

Nose spray is evil. Sure it makes you feel good instantly, but if you keep using it for days, it'll fuck you up pretty bad. Your nose will clear up faster if you don't use it at all.

Those nasal strips for snorer's supposedly work well.

Yeah I've heard that even the perscription stuff will fuck you up. You're body gets addicted to the stuff and you require the stuff to have a clear nose anytime.
