How is Outpost for rebate processing? A hundred bucks is a lot to worry about not getting...

Does anyone know if this is the same panel used in the Aquaview HPB 17" LCD TigerDirect was selling w/ a $50 rebate a while back? I think that one had a Hyundai panel as well.

Thanks

Looks like the price is now $297 after MIR. They upped the price $18.

Anyone who has purchased this monitor: How is it? Good? Great? Terrible?

I should have mine tomorrow. Will write up a little review when I receive the monitor.

The Dude, to test if you have any dead pixels just display a white and black image and look if any pixels aren't white/black. They should all be the same.

this link was in another topic I found on LCDs.

Thats a great, simple to use program.

I just got the Hyundai L70S from my local Fry's and its really nice. But there is one bad pixel on it. Do you guys think I should take it back for an exchange for another one? In hopes of finding one with no bad pixels?

Definitely. Between my friends and I, we picked up 4 LCDs. None of them had any dead or sticking pixels. As always YMMV, but I think the majority of the L70S are good. Sucks that you got a dud. :(

I love mine :D
Got it 2 days earlier than expected, and mine doesn't have any dead pixels!

It's very nice.

Got in on this during Labor Day. Mine had a stuck pixel though... I've already sent in the rebate. Do you think Fry's would still exchange without the UPC on the package?

Logic suggests that they are connected via a DVI-like interface. It'd be silly for a laptop manufacturer to mimic a non-DVI by turning that digital video signal into an analogue one and then convert it back to a digital one for the LCD.

Googling found that: "[y]our average TFT LCD panel needs to get 6 or 8 bits of TTL level digital data for each of 3 colours plus H & V syncs and a data enable and a clock to keep all these signals together.(plus a few grounds to be happy)". Again, that's a pure digital signal, so it's DVI-like.

Since do more than read text and even play the occassional game, I'll wait for a 17" with DVI at that price point. Anand's staff pretty much agrees when they say, "[t]rust us ? you want to run DVI, if possible, all the time."

I don't understand how this works...

Isn't a pixel either on or off? Can someone give a good explanation of why DVI is always better than analog (or an argument against it, as long as it well reasoned)?

Just got mine!!! Too bad I didnt catch it when it was 279.99, anyways..have only one dead pixel.

Hmm should I go back ..howz fry's about dead pixels? Is it worth sitting in line and pissing the staff and everyone behind me while I ask them to keep bringing another TFT till I get a perfect one?

But great sharpness

Really? Between my friends and I, we've picked up seven LCDs. Not one had any dead pixels. It's been working well ever since I picked it up when they first ran the promotion.
