I have one more final left in exactly 90 minutes... its scheduled for 3 hours :/ but I should be able to finish it in an hour or so. The class is history 12 and we have to write an essay... here is the topic.

- Discuss the changing nature of presidency from 1865 to the 1970's. Choose three presidents that best illustrate changes in the office and powers of the president.

I was going to use Nixon and I am drawing blanks on two other presidents... anyone got any ideas?

Franklin Roosevelt and his 12 years in office helped to change the amendments to make 8 years the maximum time to serve.

JFK and the cuban missle crisis and space program.

*shrug* that's about all i got...

How about Teddy Roosevelt

Roosevelt steered the United States more actively into world politics. He liked to quote a favorite proverb, "Speak softly and carry a big stick. . . . "

Go here and if you click on presidents it gives you a biography and some accomplishments in each of their presidency's.
