I watched this recently as well. I'm strangely compelled to watch these "The Ring" rip-offs. So so so so bad.

The Takashi Miike movie from 2003 was really good. Not a 10/10, but it was an easy 7/10 or maybe 8/10. One Missed Call
When it comes to Takashi's works, this doesn't compare to Ichi the Killer, Gozu, or Audition, but it was truly a good movie.

That said, the American remake from 2008 was a heaping pile of crap.
I have nothing against remakes if/when they are done right, for instance, I actually prefer the Americanized version of Internal Affairs (aka "The Departed")

You think that's a piece of crap...i got thise Jeffrey Dahmer movie from Redbox...what a realll piece of shit that was. I sat through 10 mins and had to shut it off. I wanted to burn the dvd to help others who might choose to rent it.

The movie they were talking about was Pulse. It was alot better than One Missed Call! 🙂

Wow... I would have never wasted my time. I only watch bad movies when they are on cinemax. Don't waste a spot in my queue for them.

the original japanese story/novel was written by akimoto yasushi who's the producer of AKB48 😀

he also did another horror movie, densen uta in which where after karaoke'ing a song, you die. 😀 this one features a cast of AKB48 members. 😀
