One lens to rule them all would be a 14-300mm optically stabilized fixed aperture zoom. Not even sure if such a lens is feasible to make, but it would cover the most popular wide-to-telephoto focal lengths.

If you just want a big lens, what about the Nikon 1200-1700mm f/5.6?

I love the look of that lens
It's a one-off custom lens made for long distance wildlife photography.

What's more interesting is who it was made for. Can anyone here read Arabic?

Maybe the Crown Prince of Dubai wanted to have the world's tallest building and the world's largest telephoto lens.

It just says the same thing in arabic. I can't can't read the last word (the one next to the 1700/4) but the first two just say "strong lens"

It is theoretically optically possible to make an f/1.4 14-800mm zoom. But, it is obviously not practical for reasons of cost, weight, and size. 3x seems to be the limit before something has to give, be it money, size, weight, aperture, image quality, or distortion.

Nice! Battery powered zoom, built in LCD display of it's own... I'm guessing you aren't taking this on a long hike... No A-Mount, so I'll have to pass on it, otherwise I'd be all over it... ;) ;)

Shame it was built around a Hasselblad, reducing the effective FOV. Shoulda been built around at most a 35mm...maybe just a 1.3X crop.

LOL....Imagine that baby on a 4/3s sensor. 3400mm f4.:)
