One Gold account on two Xbox 360s?

Hey folks,

I have one Xbox 360 and love it. However, I would like to purchase another for a separate room in my house. My question, can I use my gold account and Netflix license on both devices? I presume that there will be something in place to limit online use to a single console at a time.

Thanks,

I5

No you have to recover the gamertag on each system, its a PITA unless you keep your profile on a memory card. Another option appears to be to clone the memory card and then import the profile onto machine a, reclone the card, import onto machine b. Last one logged in wins.

They really should allow this in an easier fashion, requiring one gold account per netflix streamer is silly.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I had to deal with this.

Your profile (that includes live gold) can only exist in one place. That can be on a hard drive or on a memory card. So you can either move hard drives between the 360s or store your profile on a memory card and just move that.

Thanks for the prompt replies. The memory card option doesn't sound too bad so I think I'll end up going that route. Cheers!

I do the memory card shuffle.. Not too bad except those times you sit down on your couch to watch a movie, then realize your card is in the console upstairs 😛

Why would you need your gamertag to watch a movie 😕

There needs to be some kind of solution for this. I've run into the problem when I've taken my hard drive to a friends house to play some Rock Band and my wife wants to watch Netflix movies. She can't because I need my profile at the friends house. They should let you link one silver account to your profile for things like multiple xbox's in the home and such.

Of course, if it's REALLY important for you, you could always pick up a cheap 13-month subscription card and have two XBL Gold accounts. The memory card shuffle is the most convenient way right now though.

Yep, I always keep mine on my memory card for playing at my friend's house.

Do what I did. Bought a powered HDMI splitter and ran a 30ft hdmi cable to the other room.

The controller's wireless works great through walls.

It worked great up until the NXE update then you don't get audio once inside the GUI. MS is working on a fix as it occurs for multiple TVs. Something to do with a HDCP handshake.

There is a workaround hich is to boot the 360 without the HDD attached, then attach the HDD. When the 360 reboots you will have audio.

It's awesome not having to recover my gamer tag. Plus when the kid is watching tv downstairs I can be upstairs and vice versa without having to drag the box around.

I hooked the splitter up to my AV receiver that does all my output to my movie theatre in hopes of eliminating a cable box but the logitech remote doesn't work weel through walls/floors. So now it just does the 360.

Still cheaper than buying another 360 and you avoid the hassle of account recovery.
