Ok so my predecessor set up my bosses desktop and laptop so that they would sync a certain folder. Well, he recently got a new laptop and wants me to do the same. How in the heck do I do this?

They are both connected to the internet with static IP address and are behind the same firewall and same hub. I looked at using the My Briefcase but I do not want to have to move the briefcase back and forth as it needs to be a simple job.

As of right now, he plugs his laptop into the network and clicks a button or two and it syncs the folder on both computers up. I need it to be that simple. Any help would be appreciated.

PS. Let me know please if this is the wrong forum.

You could also look into redirecting folders using group policy. He wouldnt even have to click a button then.

Sounds like what I also need ... but also sounds like it does not work with Win 2000.
Is that correct?

We used ViceVersa Pro (about fifty dollars) for several years, synching 10GB of data using a VPN between a remote Server and two desktop PCs at two different locations.

If you have a Windows Server and a fast connection, you can also do this with Offline Files.
