Arguably the best processor on the market with only the hyperthreading i7 version being slightly better in a very few situations. Getting it sub $200 is awesome. Overclock it or not, it is an awesome chip.

Note this is a one day sale

I see Intel is feelin' the heat from AMD's Sept. 1 price-drop and product announcement for their 8-core FX chips.

This strikes me as a TigerDirect sale and not Intel's doing. Of course, I could be wrong, but TD does those types of discount coupons (the $30 off) all the time and the $15 off can be used on any purchase, so that's not tied to the processor either.

That said, those discounts make for a pretty good deal on the 4690K for anyone looking to buy one.

There is a very very small population that have access to microcenter b&m stores.

lol - just installed an i5-4690k I got from TD last night. $225 when I ordered a few days ago. I can live with that - its an awesome processor. They're not my favorite e-tailer, but I live in California and they don't charge me sales tax (like Newegg and Amazon does). Been using them much more the past few months (when I catch something with the 2 day Shoprunner shipping).

Isn't this more or less MicroCenter normal price ?

MC Price would be $199+tax not counting the $40 mobo combo, so this is a good bit better for anyone who doesn't have MC or wants a diff board than the ones MC carries. MC generally has really good board prices too, but it is definitely possible for someone to get a better deal sourcing the board elsewhere with this CPU to come out lower than MC's combo+tax pricing.

Still happy to have 3 MC's nearby, can pretty much guarantee best price on Intel CPUs at any given point in time, only real question is when to buy from MC for the best price.

Glad you like it. I'm waiting for i7 to go down, i5 is great too.

I used to live near a b&m mc (like 10 minutes) but now there isn't even one in my state. :(
