Frequency response really isn't that great 32-135hz might be okay for music, but won't cut the mustard for a home theater.

That's a pro audio sub. Fine for music, not so good for movies due to the lack of low end response.

And I would take Funky Waves/Seaton/JTR/etc over those JL & Paradigm subs :)

You've got to be kidding me. Have you even heard a JL G213? Listen to it in person and then come back to me and tell me it is not good for movies.

I was talking about the sub in the OP obviously.

No worries :)

I think the JLs and Paradigms and Velodynes are all great subs - but if I had the budget, I'd definitely stick to the higher end ID options :)

Full-wall double bass array for me please.

my choice would be a Mark Seaton Submersive.

Seaton Subs are AWESOME for a dedicated theater room, however awful for a something like a living room. They provide great bass performance but are too big and bulky for a living room/theater setup, IMO. I'd MUCH rather have a Paradigm Sub 2 (or 2) for that type of setup. Great bass performance, small (relatively speaking) and just plain beautiful looking. But again, in a dedicated theater room, yeah, I'd definitely take 2 Seaton Subs. :)
