i'd love to help , but need more info

what OS's are they both running? why does each computer have a non-routable internal IP address if they are connected straight to the DSL modem through a switch?

Do both of them have client for Microsoft Networks enabled instead of Microsoft Family login? You want to have Client for Microsoft Networks Enabled. Also I've heard if you cancel out of the password screen on bootup other PCs won't be able to see your PC.

as stated in that thread i bypasses the PW login - atleast now my older sister wont mess up the network - Thanks Andy - if there is a way to disable it you can help
