I found out that my autoexec.bat had some kind of weird symbols in it as if it had been corrupted. Instead of what it should say, it just says, "UN*a bunch of squares*:)" <------and a smilie face.

I went to MS Config and disabled it from starting and rebooted. I cleaned it up and restarted with it enabled.

Now when I right click on my computer and go to properties, the device manager wont open. I also cant add or remove hardware from the control panel.

anyone know how to make a boot disk without these things?

yah. I removed something like 2 weeks ago. I havent been onlint since then. I unplugged my computer and moved it somewhere else. I guess these are after effects.
