I'm building another Intel NUC and wondering if there's any performance difference using one 8 gig stick of ddr3 memory compared to two 4 gig sticks. The unit has two slots.

Some things I read say there's a benefit to having two sticks, others say the performance will be identical with newer ddr3 memory.

Thanks for guidance. Sean

Seeing as the price is very close between an 8GB single stick and the kit, i'd opt for the 8GB kit.

The performance is definitely better using dual-channel mode. And i doubt you'd ever need more than 8GB of ram in a little NUC.

Just make sure the ram runs at 1.35V as the NUC's and Brix do not like 1.5V or higher DDR3 ram.
