If you can get a 290X for the $550 release price it's good value. If you can wait for the Asus DCII or the Gigabyte WF3, which have been previewed so should be available any time now, that's even a better choice, IMO.

Get 2 780s and call it a day. I don't think the extra money for the 780ti is worth it. I have no doubt two 780s will meet your expectations. No waiting on availability , no crappy amd cooler, no fighting prices for Bitcoin driven pricing.

So far best suggestion.

Where can he find R9 290X if it is out of stock and dam price is to high even higher than GTX 780TI.Those R9 290X custom cooler will be more expensive than reference.

More expensive than 780ti? HERE In stock at the time I'm posting this and I didn't even have to look hard.

Except, no, it's not. The GTX 780 when overclocked is 15-20% faster than uber mode 290X, and the 290X costs 600$ on newegg while the vanilla 780 costs 500$ with three free games. There is no situation in which the 290X is better, since the overclocked 780 is faster, quieter, and has a better software ecosystem.

The OP mentioned nothing of value, he asked a specific question about 770SLI versus 780ti. I fail to see where Radeons enter the question? But if he wants value, the GTX 780 is the far better option (100$ cheaper than 290X *and* much faster once OC'ed) by being better by every metric and significantly faster once OC'ed. If he opts for a 780ti, that is a good deal faster than the 780 still.

For instance, let's take this overclocked GTX 780:

perf_oc.gif

This 780 is ~20% faster than the Titan.

The 290X in ubder mode is EVEN with Titan

Let's review. An overclocked vanilla 780 is faster than the 290X by 20%, quieter, 100$ cheaper, and has better software. I fail to see how any reasonable person would even consider the hot and loud reference 290X which has inferior overclocking ability (although, custom PCB 290X cards *could* change this) and is more expensive.

Nobody's twisting the OP's arm He's free to take whatever advice he'd like.

Depends on whether you plan to overclock. At stock you can get away with less but if you want to overclock both a CPU + GPUs i'd get a 1000W PSU. Speaking of which, the 780ti is the better option if you do want to overclock, unless custom PCB 290X's change that - the reference 780ti (and even the GTX 780 vanilla) have better overclocking ability than the ref 290X by quite a bit.

Woah, relax dude.

OP doesn't play at 1080p so i don't know what that graph is for. He's playing at 5760x1080 and 290X and 780ti are neck and neck there. You want to compare stock vs OC sure whatever at least stick to the topic here.

I will admit, I would suggest OP get 2x 780s for his setup cause 290s are now about the same price as a 780.
