When you kiss your SO you arent grinding bacteria into/onto their teeth/gums/tongue. Thats why its different.

From what I've heard, bad breath isn't caused by the stuff on your tongue. It's caused by a bacteria that creates sulfur compounds but doesn't, and cannot live on the surface of our tongue because oxygen kills them.

Scraping the tongue only removes a small amount of sulfur compounds which are replaced almost instantly by the bacteria below the surface.

Toothpaste that contains Sodium Lauryl Sulfate also does that sudsing effect which does absolutely nothing (now this particular fact I know because I heard it straight from my dentist). The suds do nothing, and it can have a drying effect that will create more bad breath.

For the other stuff, research it because it's things I've heard by some people claiming to be dentists and something I read on the internet.
