And then prematurely trotted out by Rockwell International for heavy duty transmissions, this amazing technology, which many of you more tech-aware peeps have seen amazing vids of previously, is retroactively resurfacing as a proud Chrysler Corporation solution to a problem no one really understands or can explain.

No matter!

I believe it will help them regain much needed market share.

If it is below 10 RGs you will be directed to perform a series of tests that will effectively raise the billable hours for the service department but will perform no other useful function.

😀

Nice find, never seen this despite it's age.

Yeah, I figured some hadn't, so I posted it. But, I did put multiple references and direct hints in the OP to hopefully forestall the fatuous "this is so old" and "I saw this on the net in 1944" 😉 type of responses.

Despite them, and this post, watch as some would-be master of the net so posts anyway. 😀

That vid is awesome. Been around forever but always worth another look. I never read any history on it, who made it and why. Would like to know, but too lazy to look it up right now. That's the internet for you.

lol that is awesome.

That's probably how we sound to people when we say "Did you try running an antivirus scan? Do you have a firewall? I can maybe reload the OS and upgrade the RAM."

This reminds me, when I install the new electrical panel in my server room, I need to add a flux capacitor to it.

This is so old, noob.

that hasn't changed since the mid-70s

Notice how you never see K cars, or the Neon in everyday situations? Still common to see old Accords/Camrys and even Jbody GMs, but you pretty much need a time machine to find an example of a Chrysler car from the 90's on?

Exhibit B is my personal experience being much more fantastic with my '92 Jeep compared to the 2000 model. Apparently even the French can make better EFI systems than Chrysler. 186K on my old '92 Cherokee and it never asked more from me than an oil change cap and rotor. 150K on the '00 GC and I have already replaced the crank, cam, o2 sensors, as well as the coil packs and plugs. I know the transmission is on it's way out and already have a contingency set up for that. Apparently that GC tranny is one of Chrysler's better ones, but it does not fill me with confidence in its noise and shifting the way that ZF unit did with it's lack of those attributes.
