What is the name of this 'boldest' liar? I think the man living at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. might want to challenge for the title. 😉

i dunno, i don't think i will really tell my grandkids about stuff like that... i think i'd be talking more about events in my life (not news events that i was not really involved in).

Heard Mt. St. Helens blow back in 1980. I could also tell the grandkids about how Grandpa got drunk and pissed off the top of the Empress Hotel on our honeymoon. hehehe

the big North East blackout stands out. I was trapped in NYC that day, working on the docks (at the time, I worked for the company that runs the ferries between NYC and NJ; we were slammed that night because traffic was at a standstill and the subways weren't running, making us the only way out of NYC). I definitely remember that my first thought the second the power went out was of a terrorist attack.

sometime around 2 am when we closed shop, I took a boat back over to the Jersey side and slept on the floor in my office along with about a dozen of my other coworkers.

it's probably one of the strangest things I've ever seen to stand on the shores of the hudson river and not be able to see the NYC skyline a stone's throw away.

* invading a soverign nation with ABSOLUTELY bogus information and no one gets fired
* rationale for war (WAR mind you...not a little military action) changing at least 3 times
* dwindling rationale for war yet the man who committed troops stayed steadfast
* birth of infotainment (don't know what it's called by anyone else but I call outlets like Fox News this)

The fall of the Berlin wall is the most siginificant event I can think of. Having been there when it was up, kinda puts the event into a greater perspective.

September 11th - I was just talking to a guy I used to work with a few years ago about when the happened, I will always and forever remember this day in full vivid detail as long as I live.

9/11 would be the most profound up until now. an event that united a nation and then quickly divided it.

Pretty boring/generic stuff, you need to get out and have more experiences.
