What else do they put the SHO in? My uncle has an SHO Taurus and it's the only SHO I've ever seen. Then again, Fords aren't very popular in my area (aside from the trucks, of course.)

Sure it is, a Topaz is much smaller, plus this one's a 2 door.

Jello - there was a blooming market for 4 door sport Sedans - what else would they have put them in? I mean, the thing was producing a few less HP than Ford's flagship 5.0...

The SHO Motor was used in the Taurus SHO and that was it. (from the factory of course). There were a few SHOguns made... I'll let you guys search to see what those are in case you don't know what they are

OK, I think everyone's missing the point of this thread: This motor never came in a Topaz from the factory And with that motor in either one of the cars, neither one is normal

SHO stands for Super High Output IIRC, and the motor is a DOHC V6. Don't remember much else about it.

Mustang GT use SOHC V8 4.6, and the Cobra just use the pretty much the same darn thing with a DOHC head.

Umm... no the SOHC is way different from the DOHC and it isn't just HEADS.

Yes, the SHO engine was engineered by Yamaha, it's a very high tech engine, at least it was in about 1989 when I worked for Ford. Not even close to the other v6's in the Ford family.

The rubber in my mount is actually 4 sponge hockey pucks! I drilled out the centers and inserted a 3/4" square piece of tubing for the bolt to pass through. Cheap and effective...lol
