Onboard video replacement

My wife has a PC with an ECS P6ISM-II motherboard, which has both onboard video and an AGP slot. I've just added an AGP card, a GeForce-2 MX, and the system still sends a signal only to the onboard video and not to the new card. The only BIOS setting that relates to this has the following two choices: PCI and Onboard/AGP. I'm not sure who designed this, but the second choice covers two items...

I'm assuming this thing is supposed to auto-detect the expansion card and use it by default, but this isn't happening.

Adding an AGP card disables the integrated one, while adding a PCI card does not.

That said, it looks like you didn't manage to insert the AGP card properly. You wouldn't be the first.

Good call, you were right. However, in my defense, I had to whack the card with the heel of my hand to get it into the slot an extra millimeter. That sucker was snug. Previously when I double-checked my AGP insertion, I pushed firmly and it didn't budge.

Thanks much.
