Well, just wonder if anybody has ever done a review for onboard sound, whether it's intergrated into the chipset(SIS) or from other chipset(AC97 via Realtek or C-media or whatever)...

My previous Gigabyte 7VRXP has CreativeLab PCI128 implemented...so okay with it...but how about those "appear-to-be-cheap" AC97 codec? Anybody?:)

Blah, onboard sound pretty much sucks and thats why there aren't really too many reviews out there about it. I've used cmedia while it works just fine, it's not good for games, music, etc.

On board sound is the biggest POS since Osama Bin Laden....

Just like him, they "need to get rid of it"

I have used C-Media and a AMD/realtek AC97.

The C-Media onboard is real nice, and after changing some stuff the AC97 is not to bad on my Dual Athlon board 760MPX.

But the C-media was great in games, MP3's, or anything I threw at it. just get the newwest drivers and it should work well.
