Hi,

I got an Asrock 939Dual-SATA2 the other day. I installed WinXP, everything fine, except that i haven't been able to get the onboard audio to work. It simply does not sound. This morning a did a clean reinstall of windows, and the same.

My hardware:

AMD 939 3700+ brisbane
1024mb ram (1 512 module + 2 256 modules)
ati radeon 1600pro 512mb
HD Seagate 320MB sata2
460w enermax psu
latest bios (2.30)

What i did:

- installed xp, then sp2
- installed unified drivers 2.20 downloaded from uli's website (ftp://www.uli.com.tw/driver/Integrated220.rar) (selected agp, lan, and audio). It must be noted that after this installation and subsequent rebooting, the onboard audio wan't recognised in windows
- installed drivers downloaded from asrock web (AMD cool n quiet driver, serial ata driver, serial ata 2 driver)
- Then I tried unninstalling uli's audio drivers, and installing realtek driver available at asrocks web. After rebooting, audio was recognised in windows, however nothing sounds, it is completely mute.

Jumpers for front and rear audio are both there, as manual states that they must be for both options to be available (i use rear audio)

Can anyone help me please, or tell me where I should ask?

Thank you very much.

Did you check to see if the onboard audio is enabled in the CMOS?

In the CMOS, you mean in the BIOS? Yes it's enabled (otherwise windows wouldn't recognize it)

Thanks anyway.
