Make sure you do some comparison shopping...
My local Ames went out of business a few months ago... They had a futon for sale for $299.00. I had just purchased it there 2-3 months earlier for my kids for only $179 (I think maybe 169 or 189). They had TONS of those futons in stock. When they hit 20% off, idiots were buying them like crazy. The exact same futon was at Kmart for $199, and they were happily "saving" $60 by getting it for $240. I had noticed quite a few of those things seemed to have gone up considerably in price before the sale. For the first month or so (the liquidators really dragged out the sale), very little, except clothing, ever made it to what would have been a normal price. Nonetheless, they sold a ton of stuff.
