I rode out of the carport, I looked up and was stunned at how clear the sky was. The stars twinkling brightly just took my breath away. I felt like I was five again and was really looking at the midnight sky with hopes and dreams. It's pretty neat how nature can really bring the calm into your life at the most unexpected moments.

Was in basic training at Leonard Wood. In the field for a few days. Standing guard at night deep in the pitch dark woods. Could barely see anything at all around me. It was about no degrees out.

Looked up. Nearly fell over.

Holy cow! Absolutely stunning. Millions of diamonds strewn across black velvet. Incredibly beautiful. Hard to describe just how clear and perfect and beautiful the heavens looked.

That was in 1991 and I still remember it to this day. Crystal clear air, no city lights for miles and miles. Just an incredible sight on a perfect night under perfect conditions.

Felt very small and was totally awestruck by the sight.

I was actually wondering if this is why it was written like this when I first read it.

Oh definitely not trying to mimic ace in any way. I just wanted to share something that was pretty cool on my morning ride. I will NOT be dying any time soon.
