On the first part of the journey, I was looking at all the life

There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There were sand and hills and rain
The first thing I met was a fly with no buzz
And a sky with no clouds
The heat was hot and the ground was dry
But the air was full of sound

So? most of the music I listen to was written before or right after I was born (1980). I can't stand most of what's put out now. Or were you just surprised that he knew it?

Sandman is another good one, IMO.

Ventura Highway and Sister Golden Hair are also great songs by America, listen to them a couple more times.

My milkshake's still better
Better than yours. x2.

It was an observation guys, not a rub. I am just amazed at young people that actually know about some of this music. I'm impressed, at least you guys seem to have some taste in music.

I aggree with NTB, it's the lack of decent music today that's the problem. every band sounds like every other band.

Do any of you guys ever listen to music from the 20's - late 50's? Most of it isn't rock, but it is pretty good music. I wish more stations in my area played oldies.

occasionally I do, but my preference is for stuff from the same time period as the bands mentioned here - 60's, 70's, maybe early 80's.

the song is America's A Horse with no Name

EDIT: Dangit, got my threads mixed up. This one is America, not Dire Straits.
