Good the media brougt this on themselves. They went on a witch hunt they attacked her family. I hope she does a bunch of interviews with fox news and gets softball after softball question. Just to rub it in the face of the MSM the scum they are.

IF family is going to be kept completely out of it, why does she exploit her newborn to make herself look like a champion of special needs children?

Family being kept "completely out of it" doesn't obviously doesn't mean the children should be locked up and not seen or heard about.

Did Obama "exploit" his two girls by having them go onstage at the DNC to say hi to him when he was on the jumbotron via satellite? I think only the biggest, nuttiest loons would think so...

Nothing wrong with having "her" family on stage. But, only the "nuttiest of loons" would think that ushering in the self proclaimed "fucking redneck" who doesn't want kids up there on stage to be with her "good" christain pregnant teenage daughter so they can "act" as if they are in blissful everlasting love is "not" damage-control "image" exploitation at it's finest

Just admit it: you would hate her no matter who she brought on stage, wouldn't you?

Should she really have left her daughter off of the stage because she was pregnant? And if she does bring her daughter up, why shouldn't she bring her fiance? Had her daughter been 21 and non-pregnant her fiance on stage would not be an issue at all. The fact that it suddenly makes it an issue for YOU simply because she is 17 and is pregnant speaks volumes about YOU and nothing about Palin.

Don't hate her QED, but certainly have every right to question the hype behind her nomination when she is literally a heartbeat away with a 72 year old presidential candidate ...

No, I don't hate her, I feel sorry for her, placed in this position by the GOP spin machine. It is not an "issue" to me. It's an "issue" within the beauty pageant election framework for this election to dupe the public. I blame Rove & the GOP for those 2 confused teenagers up on that stage.

Face it, it was "image" exploitation front and center, getting the electorate to talk about something within the "framework" of "image". Get the press into it and there you go, all the real issues are on the back burner. its a trick they having been useing all election. Just pointing this idiocy out. I'm actually happy they did it, so the people other than his base, the swings and independents can see it for what it is.

Guess you missed the 20-odd presidential debates on national tv. How many times has Obama been on Meet the Press and similar shows? Specifically as to Biden, he's been interviewed how many dozens of times over the past 30 years? How many times on Meet the Press?

Palin is an unknown.

What kind of fucking twilight-zone world do you live in where you believe having your pregnant teenage daughter on stage with you (serving as a reminder to what some would call either hyprocisy or bad parenting) is the most politically expedient thing to do? The fact that only loons like you are bringing this up (and not even a rogue left-leaning journalist) shows you out of touch you are on this...

If I was advising her from a purely political point-of-view, I would have had the daughter stay home (make up a story about having a doctor's appointment or something) to avoid the discussion altogether.

But again, let me ask you since you seem to be dodging the question: what SHOULD she have done that would have made you happy?

I have no doubts that Palin will eventually hit Meet the Press and the other usual Sunday morning shows.

We, of course also know she will participate in a debate with Biden next month.

And I'd be suprised if, at sometime in the very near future, the McCain camp doesn't reach out to a few respected
journalists they believe they can trust to be fair to do an interview.

Don't act stupid. There is a big difference. Palin used her baby to pitch support for special needs kids. Obama did nothing similar to use his kids.

I would say the same thing about you, but apparently its no act.

Obama has, on numerous times, brought up his daughters during speeches and in interviews-- both to share information about his family life and to make political points. That doesn't make them fair game, and that doesn't mean he's "exploiting them".

That isn't quite true. He used his daughter in that bit about being "punished with a baby" 😉

Good God people, it's been all of a week since she was announced and you are already trying to make claims of "hiding"? It was Convention week too no less - she isn't going to be out on the bobblehead circuit instantly, let alone during Convention week.

I swear you people have never gone through an election cycle before... sheesh.

No one here is trying to make claims of hiding. People here are responding to the McCain/Palin spokesperson's claim that she will not speak unless it is scripted.

Do not try to spin this into yet another false claim by the left, that is a dishonest claim.

OK, please prove the following claim: "McCain/Palin spokesperson's claim that she will not speak unless it is scripted"

Because from the clip I watched, no such statement was made. It seems some self-righteous journalist has embellished what was actually said. But please do prove your claim and the claim the rest of the lefties are banking on in this thread. 🙂
Clip you are banking on...

Good luck! 🙂

still waiting for the next talking points email???

Nope, I get all my news and opinions from P&N.

Didn't watch the video, I was basing my statement on the supposed quote/transcript. However, it was poorly written and difficult to tell where truth left off and spin began. My apologies if I was in error.

Oh, and I have no doubt that she'll do plenty of interviews between now and the election. This all just seems like alot of fluff and puff from those who wish to knock her off her game before she even starts.

Pre-empting all questions from interviewers suggests it's more likely she has no "game" to be knocked off.

Of course, she'd know more about being knocked UP.

All of your "I hate her", "loon" & "twilight zone" blustering outrage aside, I may have answered your question in the first sentence of my first reply to you. If you are asking me what I would do if I was in Sara Palins shoes, I would have done this:

When McCain & Rove came-a-knockin and offered me the VP slot, I would have said:

"Although I'm somewhat flattered by you choseing me, I have to decline at this time. As you two probably already know, I have my family to look after first. As you well know, I have 5 chidren, one being an infant with special needs to care for . Also unfortunatly my teenage daughter has made a bad decision on having sex unprotected and has become pregnant, and I want to be there for her as much as possible. You guys do know these things don't you?. I don't think it's a good idea to put that kind of burden on them and myself. That would not be fair to them as a mother. I also have the people of the great state of Alaska counting on me, and truthfuly sir I might be biting off more than I can chew, being VP of this great nation."

"I might add, although I'm flattered, I'm also a bit disturbed. Knowing my family situation, you still ask me for a slot that I truely don't know that much about. What about putting country first Mr. McCain, Mr. Rove?. If you need a woman or a pretty face for your "image\beauty pageant first style campaign, I beleive Ms Hutchinson and the like would be much well suited for the job and they definitly earned it and deserve it more than I. What happened to the running a "respectful campaign" slogan Mr. McCain?. Where is you judgement Mr. Rove?. The people of this great nation are counting on you. In reality Mr. McCain, Mr. Rove, you two should be ashamed of yourselves. I realize Mr. McCain thinks he "deserves to be president" and will pander to anything to make that happen, but I really don't want to dupe the American people on "image" over "substance. Sorry sir and good day"

Obama was talking about sex-ed. Anyway, are you arguing that dropping a responsibility like an unexpected child on a 16 or 17 year old girl isn't going to make her life difficult? I would imagine that if Palin and her daughter could use a magic '<<' button they'd both do it.

"Anyway, are you arguing that dropping a responsibility like an unexpected child..." I'm not.

I merely pointed out Obama has used his kids. In his case, it was for abortion support.

I honestly can't believe they might try to pull this off. I'm sure the "liberal" media will push considerably. If the McCain campaign doesn't think she can stand up to reporters in an interview how in the world is she suppose to stand up to other nations. I'm just flabbergasted.

You mean that tough media that watches the messiah walk away as he shouts out about having already answered like three or four questions.
