just wondering, is Kwad's offer, the Iomega/Zip Burner thing worth the $300 dollars two Timeports will bring in? How much does the burner cost?

Just in case someone was wondering. The link listed above does not give the rebate form. The rebate form comes in the mail with the phone. Thats why I asked KraftSingle.

Just stop by Staples and grab the rebate form, they've got whole pads of them. I tried Staples also but they wouldn't honor the match.. too bad because Staples has the rebate forms AND a $50 gift certificate with any wireless phone purchase.

Also, there WAS another thread about this with a different link> I can't find it again, but I ordered from this link the first day and got backordered. Used the other the next morning and it was filled imediately.

To answer my own question regarding rebate since I asked about this when I was activating the phone:

You have to pick up rebate form from physical store (SpringPCS store) since the rebate form does NOT come with the phone. I just picked one up from a local Sprint PCS store. Scan of it is not good enought since it specifically says "original rebate form only."

Thanks for this great deal!

In appreciation for all of you who ever hooked me up!

Receipt 1

Receipt 2

I had no problem printing out the Office Depot ad (just search for Timeport), bringing one of the receipts, and PM'd at another Staples. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, the method of PM can be a web printout, which is shown in receipt 1, "Form of Proof: 06".

p.s. Sorry about the big gifs. Shrink it down and you should get good quality printouts.

THANK YOU for the scan. I had no success after trying a few staples (one has stock but refuse to PM. Other has no stock). Will try again tomorrow.

Just wanted to say thanks for the post about the phone. I have been looking for a good deal on a phone for a while. FYI, I have it on back order, hopefully it should come in soon. I just have to remember to apply the coupons that I have.

don't give up the PM attempts at staples. i struck gold on the 2nd store i hit. the first one said no way jose--in fact other presumed anandtechers had attempted the PM before me--the guy said no PM on discontinued or out of stock items. the manager at the second store gave me a quizical look after seeing the OD web page print out, slipped into the back room for a good 15 min, and then emerged with 2 timeports! All totaled, $50 bucks a phone with $20 off $100 coupon. the thing to note is that although they may not have the timeport on display, they could very likely have it in the back.

Well, I called Staples and they were out of stock. I checked with Circuit City and they had two. I wanted a PM but they babbled everything not to honor it. First they said it is an online price so wwe cannot match it. I told them to call OD. The retarded sales rep tried to call OD but said that OD phone numbers changed to UPS shipping centers. I told him to call the manager. He said that his manager told him not to match it. I called the manager to speak with me. The manager is convinced that he has to PM it. After then, stupid rep came and said ' I called OD head office and 59.44 is not their price for this item. This was probably a lie but I did not insist.
On my way, I stopped by Best Buy, showed them the OD price sheet, they called and confirmed quickly. But then sales manager came and told me that he cannot match it. I said 'you just dont match it?'. He said 'yes'. I asked him to write a statement stating that he did not match the price. He did and I walked out there with the statement. It was amazing. I will check back tomorrow with other stores. I guess the most efficient way would be to buy it whatever the price, then get back tomorrow showing the OD price and get the match discount. If they still reject this, you can return the product.

Thanks - I grabbed those scans already and thanks to the guy who posted those both here and at fatwallet. I'm simply trying to arm myself with everything possible for a manager who is apparently named "Ms. Pricematch Only Over My Dead Body".

Someone please explain something to me about this phone...the box says "use this on the sprintPCS network AND ON OTHER SELECT CDMA networks. My carrier, Verizon, says their network will work with ANY CDMA phone!!! Can this phone work on Verizon's network???

Verizon, after merging with GTE, started selling tri-mode phones only. Motorola also has a Tri-mode model Timeport, but not this Sprint version. Sprint does 1.9GHz CDMA and 800MHz analog only, while Verizon adds 800MHz CDMA. I assume technically you can do it, but never tried.

However if you have equipment insurance ($4/mo) and you ever "lose" your phone, you get one FedEx to you and you can give them the tri-mode model number as a replacement. Ooops should I have said that?

The reason why most of you are not getting a PM with Staples is because most of the managers received an email from their bosses stating that they won't be PM with OD because of two reasons:

1) Staples doesn't PM on closeout or discontinued products

2) They'd lose a @!^R#load of money if they ever did.

To all those that got their phone, I salute you. To all those that haven't keep trying.

I took the Office Depot Web printout showing "in-stock" @ $59.44 AND the scanned STAPLES receipt which was Pricematched by another Anand member above to my local Staples and they flat out refused.....

the first manager was a dummy, she said they wouldnt honor it b/c the price diffreence was too big! What kind of lame excuse is that! Second manager was getting ready to go home, he said no way and to complain to his district manager, even after seeing another Staples had pricematched it!

His reason was since the Office Depot price was not an "everyday" price, but either a misprint or closeout, they dont have to match it...however he didnt even bother to check, which he should have done, since I said it was probably a sale price...They DO have the right not to honor it since Office Depots price is a closeout, and there was obviously NO way he was going to give it to me, so I just forgot about it...matching this deal at Staples TOTALLY depends on who you deal with there...

BTW this was in the Bay Area CA

I just got back from Staples. I was able to pricematch even though they called the local Office Depot to verify price. I think OD locally told them the price was still valid and available. I had called the same OD yesterday and was told that the phone was orderable from the store.
