Something tells me this isn't possible but before i gave it up i wanted to see if it was possible to get anything out of this deal for just 85$ without being interested in investing the 5 G's.
thanks,

for 10,000 miles you can't fly anywhere, but you can drive to the beach, which is more than most of us.

This wouldn't be a deal, if it weren't for the 15,000 additional miles you get for charging $5K on your card in 5 months. Is it really THAT hard to charge $5k on your credit card? I believe many schools accept credit card as payment for tuitions. I believe you can pay the tuition first, and when your financial aid/loan comes in, you just get a disbursement check.

check this earlier post for 10,000 FREE United Miles for college students ONLY

For those of us who already have an Amex card it seems that this card is only $30 more...

Only thing I don't like is that my other card has BVG and if I put everything on this card the other one will suffer =(

TekDemon, you must have an Amex CHARGE card, which not many people have. The Optima/Blue/etc cards are not eligible.
