LOL. Are you kidding me? Yes, it is a real fight, but there was nothing that warranted a beat down in a school basketball game. It is ludicrous to think otherwise. If anything a swing would have had him ejected from the game, but the fact that he kept hitting the kid even after the point that the kid was knocked out warrants an arrest and prosecution.
Also, yes people who play ball in general will talk smack, but it is also true that it is almost expected to talk smack when playing sports and basketball with friends when you are black.
No I am not kidding. How do any of know what caused this?
For all we know the kid did something and perhaps the time to handle it was when you found him.
Dude, I seriously never knew talking smack in sports was a black-only thing. I just don't get it.
Also I hate to tell you this, in a real fight you don't stop swinging until you are sure. I doubt he realized the kid was already knocked out...still unless you are used to playground nonsense you aren't playing the you hit me, I hit you...you ok? no biting, pinching or pulling hair crap. no better fight fair crap. it's a fight, if you lose it you are probably going to be having some problems with your health for a few days to weeks or more. Same with even if you win sometimes.
Before I decide who was right or wrong I want to see the story, not the colors portrayed.
Did you even read my whole post? Or did you just read the first part and reply?
I even said talking smack in basketball pertains to everyone, but it is expected when you are playing with black people. This is a generalization, but it is pretty true from my experience.
I also stated in the very next sentence after my first question, that of course this was a "real fight, but there was nothing that warranted a beat down in a school basketball game." Did you even read my post? And yes, I know very well how to defend myself and biting, pulling hair, poking eyes... is all fair game, but like I said before, almost nothing warrant assault and battery.
If a person is willing to fight, it better be for something more important than a freaking basketball game -- like defending your wife's honor, defending yourself and your family from physical harm. I have lost my temper a few times myself, but I have almost always been able to control myself and resolve the situation in a mature, grown up manner. Even pro basketball players when they get older and wiser allow the refs to do their jobs and not elevate the situations by fighting. Almost nothing else warrants this behavior, and anyone who says or acts differently is an asshat and deserves prosecution.
It has nothing to do with color, it is a matter of the fact that this kid punched and beat up a kid over a basketball game. If that isn't apparent to you, then you must be either 1) young and naive and thinks fighting is cool, or 2) someone who is making it a race issue pro-black for the kid who did the assault. (This made me think of the O.J. Simpson trial)
The fact that black basketball players tend to talk smack because of a cultural acceptance of that in sports and basketball has nothing to do with that facts above. I just pointed it out because you seem to be oblivious to the fact that black basketball players in general talk smack in basketball. Basketball players in general do this, but culturally and generally it is almost expected of a black basketball player. It doesn't make you racist to notice an observation instead of trying to be super P.C. about it and ignore the apparent observation. I have as of yet to play a pick up game with some black people where there wasn't trash talking going on (and I used to play a lot before my injury). It isn't a big deal. It is fun sometimes.
