on average, how many pages of a book (not text book) can you read per hour?

I seem to read at different speeds at different times. Probably between 50 and 60 pages per hour on average.

what size? I usually read a standard size paperback in around 2 hours, 200-250 pages or so.

per hour?! oh geez... I don't know. I'm going to keep it conservative and say ~75.

edit: ah depends on the book... text size and what-not... maybe 60ish is more like it

i dont know, i haven't read a book since like highschool.

Pretty sad.

The hand is smarter than the paper.

The reader does not make the book smart. Why should the book return the favor?

I dunno..i just read 35-40 pages of Strategic Managment for a test I took right when i finished it. I read it in an hour and got a 94....this is why i never learn not to procrastinate...seriously.

About 20/hour though I slow down when George gets free of the man in the yellow hat. Those parts are funny.

around 20-30, i quit reading as it was wasting to much of my time. haven't read a book in probably 12 years.

what do you do instead?
i can't imagine how reading is a waste of time...that just boggles my mind.

porn...much more gratifying...😛

i should have figured

what about an engineering textbook?
like chem, phy book?

I mean understand the material, not just reading...

80?90?

I read alot, and very quickly.

Though Atlas Shrugged I definately took at 55-60 pages... the print was too small and it was thick material.

For some reason I read books i like (fantasy/sci-fi) faster in english then in Dutch(native language)

I'd say about 60-80 pages an hour.
(read all 3 books of the LotR trilogy in one weekend)

Varies greatly between what I'm reading. If its modern day cheesy fiction then 60-80ish pages per hour is definitely doable. If it's something less accessible then maybe 40ish or slower if i'm trying to pay attention to minute details or i have to look words up. Currently reading Poe's short stories and those are much less accessible than the last book i read (Prayers for the Assassin)

These are all estimates. Being a quick reader has never been a strong suit of mine
