If you are going to change ur mobo I think it would be good to do a clean install of the OS that you use.
Since many things will change, ur Windows will need new drivers(i.e. IDE controller drivers).
Even more if you are going to switch from INTEL to AMD, or vice-versa.

Good luck!

bruiserbee,
What Rafael explained is true. You should just do a clean install. What you are referring to is a couple of methods that have been discussed here. One is using the Device Manager to remove items and allow Windows to reinstall them (risky if you don't know what you're doing). The other is deleting the ENUM key in the System Registry then installing the MB to the new system and rebooting, allowing Windows to recognize the new board, load drivers, etc. This can work, but again is not for the weak at heart nor the uninitiated. Nothing works wonders for a new system, new board, etc than a fresh reload though. Windows has a much better time of things and runs better and faster if you take the time to do this. I have used the above methods before (recently actually) and while it worked fairly well, I am already planning on a future reload of that system. Do yourself a favor, bite the bullet and do the reload.
