I'd just like to take a moment and circumvent psych's little theory that everyone is out to get microsoft. Here is my post to give praise on Win2K. Win2K is the only MS OS I use at home and as such it does a damn good job! My home PC has been up for 50+ days with a game running everyday and winamp running 24/7. The only other massive difference aside from stability in my 2K machine is the security. So to put it all in perspective, my Win2K box is almost exactly the same as my old Win9x box except it is Stable, Semi-Secure (Read: Runs outlook), and loves RAM. Ever since Win2K came out I have been very content with Microsoft.
Now to address some other comments:
HansXP,
"But my games only run under Windows! The game manufacturers are FORCING me to use Windows!!!!!!! It's a conspiracy!"
Really seemed like sarcasm... but then I realized it was true. So which is it? Sarcasm, Truth, or the third: Being sarcastic because the truth is pretty sad. While they arn't forcing you... it is pretty hard to run most games w/out running windows. If you use your computer 90% as a gaming machine... what choice do you have? Please, I'd love to hear about your alternate secret OS that runs all windows games without needing to wait weeks for ports or delayed support.
gunf1ghter,
"1) Credit Cards"
I can pay in cash as an alternative. Credit Cards arn't the ONLY way. But if I want to run most applications then windows is the ONLY way.
"2) Super market discount cards"
I don't use discount cards...
"3) Your cellular phone"
I don't have a cellular phone...
"4) Many online purchases you make"
Most online purchases ask for information that verifies who you are and also where the purchase is being shipped to. It makes sense that if I buy something that I put down where I want it shipped to.... unless I didn't actually want to recieve what I purchased.
"If you don't agree with MS activation than don't use WinXP."
I won't!
"I want to repeat, noone is forcing you to use WinXP."
I won't! but just because I do not plan on using it doesn't mean I can't discuss its flaws or warn others. Telling people not to buy it is so silly, you actually think people don't realize that already? No one has said "WinXP sucks... but I'm buying it anyway!" or at least not that I've seen.
