On accessing archived threads..

Occasionally, I bookmark or add a current thread to favourites. Fast forward a few months, I try to load the thread again. The forum software then kicks me to the generic error page saying that "the object could not be located" because the thread is now archived.

I noticed that all archived threads has "&arctab=y" appended to its URL.. so I could of course find the original link again (error page has no reference/link to the missing page), copy/paste it and append the string manually, and voila the page loads. It's a nuisance.

So I suggest that for each valid request for a thread, if it is not found in current messages, a quick check is made to see if it exists in the archives instead. Intuitively, I don't think this will affect server load if implemented properly.

Not a earth-shattering improvement, but I think it's a convenience considering the amount of people referring to our discussions.
