It's only 1:00 and I'm approaching 200 for the day.

About 15 of them are actually of any *real* importance. *sigh*

As I do not rely on email for my job I don't get very many at all.

However what emails I do get most are actually spam, from out IT department informing me usually to change a password.

Great googly moogly. How many filters/rules do you have in place for that?

Most of them can be deleted in my case.

Emails about orders or from people saying something is done.

There are even more that I have filtered directly to my garbage or special folders.

I get a mere 20.
7 of them are exact repeats of another 7. I guess people dont understand what CC means. They think they were the only ones to get this info.
Those original emails also happen to be useless.

The other 6 emails, are also useless. :|

While on a big project 20-30/day is not unusual.... during the slow times... 1-2/day... and there have been days with 0.

At one point earlier this year, I went 3 days with no emails, voice mails, pages, or instant messages.

On day 4, I called someone and had them send me something just to make sure it was still working...lol

are you counting real emails from humans? or auto-generated stuff?
most of the dozens to hundreds of auto-generated ones i siphon off into seperate folders and i never look at them.

I had 20 emails of any importance to me yesterday. I don't keep count of everything else, it's a shift-delete to paradise for them.

I have 51 rules setup in Outlook to take care of a lot of my stuff...

I get at most 20 a day...and only about like..2 are important...to me.

What I hate is when we get an email from an overseas agent notifying us of their holiday off hours...and 2 minutes later someone from HQ forwards the exact same email to everyone again.

20 a day.

2-3 are important.

10 are organizational stuff

5-7 are employees who spam a list with junk

About 30/day. All important (tech support). I'm strictly email support right now and the program I support does not get a lot of issues. I process about 400 issues a month.

We get on the order on 300,000 mails a day. 0.2% of that are legit emails. Yes, we have filters.

Me? Occasionally a co-worker will send me a chain list or some such other thing. I don't respond to and usually delete these mails. A few mails will be worker-to-woker jokes, conversations that I could usually do in Trillian or GMAIL. Other than that everything I get is work-related.

EDIT: Mails directed at me or with me involved in them range from 10 to 30/day.
