i like to test it how i play it.
That's kinda pointless... any comparison with anyone else's scores aren't accurate. What if I play my games at 640x480, with everything set to to the lowest quality and highest performance. Not going to be a very accurate depiction of what my computer is capable of, but it'll probably be higher than your score... does that mean my setup is better for gaming than your's? No. That's the whole point of these synthetic benchmarks. If all you want to use it for is yourself, you're better off going by your actual frame rates... not a number generated by a program.

I never expected this thread to turn into this :eek:/

Just a basic question if everyone uses the default settings for the score they post and it is obvious the answer was no, but I was shooting for the average.

When I post I will use the default settings, just fyi, haha

Well seriously... the whole point of a synthetic benchmark is to create a comparison between hardware running the same software... you can't run Quake 3 tests and compare them to UT2k3 tests... so synthetic benchmarks are a way of creating a standard by which to compare your hardware performance... what's the point of doing that, if everyone messed with the software that was supposed to be the one and only constant in the tests?

i meant im not going to change some setting to make it faster if thats not what i play the games with.

i run games at 1600x1200, but 3dmark runs everything default.

for games, aa is usually all the way up too. its off on 3dmark.
