I don't know if this has been menitoned before, brought up nothing in the search.
I flipped on what I thoght was going to be G4TTV and TSS was on. They referenced their e-mail to send questions and it's now [name]@g4tv.com. I even noticed that the icon thing in the top has changed.
I don't know how I missed this.
Does anyone know what happened or why? Stupid Comcast. 😕

G4 is a shame compared to TechTV, and to be honest, having TechTV's name attached to it was a travesty.

Yeah they had a lot of good shows. I even remember when it was Kate and leo. When kate just left one day i was just like..what the hell? I remember the old chatrooms they ahd where you had a picture and could play games while you watched TSS.

The new TSS really really sucks. its less tech and more just show and isnt what made TSS great. It was the show for more tech stuff unlike Call for help which was for the more basic stuff. since they got rid of the CFH they just moved it all over to the TSS and added new people making it the ultimate suck.

ZDTV/TechTV was available by many cable and satellite companies. IIRC, G4 was only available on Comcast stations since Comcast owned it. Buying TechTV was the quick, dirty, and easy way to get G4 the same exposure.

They bought and destroyed a perfectly good channel for geeks.
 
Yeah, just go read Will Wheaton's blog and some other former employee's blogs on how G4 screwed TechTV. Pretty much confirms all that is suspected.
 
Techtv was great. I still wear my awesome call for help t-shirt that I won on one of the drawings. Good times, I miss Leo.
 
I never really liked TechTV.

I REALLY never like G4. My idiot brother insists on watching it (HE'S A HARDCORE GAMERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111111111111111111111oneone). The funny thing? He's always screaming about how much he hates it and will never watch it again.

Yeah, TechTV was a tech channel. G4 was a game channel. This new "hybrid" is a totally scatalicious game channel.
We should get together and form the ATOT cable network.
 
I used to watch TSS when it was on at 6pm EST for an hour and a half, this was about two and a half years ago now, it was interesting, but not really all that helpful to me since a lot of the stuff they would talk about was stuff I had already known how to do (Thanks Anandtech 😀). I did like the Tech news though, because I don't read Slashdot.

I can't even watch G4 anymore. That stupid Filter program is retarded, I still haven't figured out the point of Cinematch, and they're the only things that are on. The worst thing about G4 is the stupid "wood" popup add they have for other programing - the noise it makes when it pops up sounds like a blowing speaker and I freak out every time because I think my TV is done.
 
I was watching that channel since DAY 1 when Kate and Leo where hosts of TSS, infact i hosted hte screensavers fanclub site and hte callforhelp fanclub site.... when it became TechTV it wasn't too bad but you could see alot of hosts where being moved around and getting cannced. after hte G4 thing the show went to the shitter and i don't really watch it anymore.

Its saddens me to see such a great station turn into crap....

That sation went through some tuff times. first it was ZDTV than TechTV now G4tv whats next. .

They need another station like Anandtech TV.. than that station would go out of business very fast. . all they have is games and these cartoonish shows.

I remember calling "call for help" back when it was before techtv and i got through and was told that they could not put my call on the air but if i wanted to be on "the screensavers"
I said no because i didnt know what show was that. I just had gotten my satellite dish and found that show.

After it change to TechTV i even won a free Webcam, that was so cool.
