My 1800xp died on me today:frown:!!!!!! I hope I can get it replaced. I won it at the AMD Extreme Performance Project in Seattle. I dunno what happned, I was playing wolfenstein and everything just went blank. I have that MSI mobo with that D-LED and it says its wasted. Lucky for me, I guess, I saved my 900 T-Bird......I miss it already🙁

Doesn't sound like you did anything wrong. Fortunately for those of us that won in the XPP it's a retail proc and therefore has that nice 3 year warrantee. Just give em a call, I'm sure they'll replace it. 🙂

Ya, I called them today, and they gave me a phone number to call.....I had to leave a message. Hopefully Ill here back from them today

Of course he didn't say whether or not he was overclocking it to death.... 😉
Hopefully you'll get a new chip! Good luck...

Was everything else ok? That must really be a pain because i am sure its a lot faster than your Athlon 900mhz. So did you use the retail fan/heatsink with it ? curious. Also how many case fans in the front at the bottom blowing air in and how many in the back to blow air out? Also if you have any fans on the side or top of case you can include those too.

Thanks

imtim83.......Everything else works great. Im using a copper Vantec heat sink, with a big ass fan on it that sounds like a blow dryer. As for case fans, I have the side of my case off, with a medium sized house fan blowing in on it. My temps were only 38c under a load.

Well I talked to them, they said I have to send it in so they can test it at there lab. I have an ugly feeling that Im S.O.L. I do build PC's every once in a while, and if they screw me on this, Ill switch to Intel. Never thought I'd ever say that🙁
