Must vent, must vent....

So my daughter and I are outside enjoying the summer sunshine. I'm on a blanket reading a book and my daughter is splashing joyfully in her pool.
Suddenly the splashing stops and I hear a very quiet voice say: "mama? towel?"
Odd, I thought, as I got up to get her towel, she's only been in the water for a short while.
I walk up to my daughter who is standing in her pool quite eager to get out. About then I noticed a huge amount of strange things floating around all around the water. WTH? I think as I pull my daughter out. Suddenly it hit me.
"OOOOOH NOOOOOO!!!!" I shriek as I rush my daughter off to scrub her down with antibacterial soap. My little angel did quite a number in her pool, and the pool was FULL.
I have never seen that much poop spread out so much. I disinfected my poor kid then spent the afternoon figuring out how to handle the fresh new sewer pond in my back yard.

I won't go into the details of how I handled it but I must say that is the most interesting fiasco I have had in quite a while.
This whole thing has left me way stressed and in desperate need of something to laugh at.

So post your worst swimming/pool experience and see if you even come close to my very interesting afternoon:p Anybody had a similar or radically worse experience?

worst swimming pool experience...

when my old man was drowning and my brother and I had to save him... ive never been so scared in my life..

or when i was boogieboarding in Hawaii, on some big a$$ waves... and as I was catching a wave back to shore I saw a shark fin sticking out of the water.. that was quite a few years ago... I realized how lucky i was...

My pool is in ground and surrounded by trees. The winter cover is one of those mesh ones that let water through. It has a hole in it the size of a softball.

I took the cover off and went to get the pool up and running before I realized I would need professional help. Long story short: the cover is off no chemicals have been added and the pump has not been on. It has been like this for three weeks.

I have done some skimming and have pulled out a number of floaters. Mostly squirrels and chipmunks. Last week, saw a possum floating. I hooked the pool brush under his belly and went to pull him out.

Apparently he had been at the bottom decomposing for a while before coming to the surface. When I lifted him out, his innards starting gushing out from where his head should have been.

It was about the nastiest thing I have ever seen...

When I was around 10 or so I was on vacation with my family. We were on a lake Michigan beach, and I was in the water playing around, standing in water up to my stomach. Well there were a bunch of waves that kept pummeling me in the stomach, and after a while I got a little sick. I puked in the lake, and it didn't sink or anything, but spread out in a few meter radius around me on the surface. It was really gross looking. I told the rest of my family not to swim over there. hehehe

Mwilding, I hope you will forgive me if I decline any invitations to your pool parties:p
That is truly awful. That really would've made me sick. Brave man!

It wasn't pretty, but for some reason I didn't gag or anything. Perhaps it was because there was no smell...

A good dose of SHOCK has been added since then to tide me over until the pool guy comes tomorrow. It was still pretty gross...

I walked out to my old pool and noticed that something was on top in the water. To my surprise a bat had flown into the water, and was so waterlogged that it couldn't get out. Therefore, I took the skimmer and picked him up with it, put him back in the woods and in the shade, and I also put him where no other animals could get to him. I went to go check on him that night, and he had flown away.

Then I put huge amounts of chlorine in my pool! :)

LOL... kids!!

Unfortunately I don't have any fun/gross pool stories of my own but your story reminded me of the classic Baby Ruth scene from Caddyshack! LOL!!

But if it had, you could have just eaten the mess and saved the gallons of anti-bacterial soap. :)

Make Bill Murray proud!

When Optimus gets home, are you going to say,

"Guess what your child did today?"

lol nothing that can compare with that, but once we were in a hotel, went down to the swiming pool, then all the sudden a kid in the pool start screaming as a cloud of ink keeps getting bigger around him, then everyone starts jumping out of the swiming pool, turns out to be they had some chemical in there thats turns into some sort of colored ink when someone pees in the water, it was hella of funny but the poor kid was terrified though lol

No, no - I got the "Call at Work" on this one. Unfortunately, amidst the chaos of developers and buggy code and screaming people here, I wasn't much help... :(

Poor babe - I'll sort out whatever is left to clean up when I get home!

Thanks, Optimus, hon, but I pretty much did it all.

Dinner, however is another story.

My apologies ahead of time for whatever might occur to your keyboard in the next while:p

<---looking back and feeling RATHER sick about the whole deal!
