I didn't get the people in the background (was that supposed to be a library?). How could they sit there and not watch these clowns? :laugh:

i think cuz the MMA fighters in japan are well very popular, just like movie stars in US are popular. they show MMA fights on regular TV (not cable). whereas MMA fighters in US are not as popular as movie stars.

Well they weren't making a huge effort to make it seem like a real library. I think it was more of an extra element that they wanted to add to the comedy. The actors' efforts to muffle their laughter made the show funnier somehow. To make that at least semi-plausible so the viewer wouldn't constantly be wondering why they were trying to be quiet, they set the show in a library. The people who were so diligently not-looking were just extras.
